Newsletter from Sen. Jacky Rosen

Fellow Nevadans,

My team and I have been off to a busy start this year working to deliver meaningful change for Nevada’s hardworking families. It’s only February, but I’m already so proud of the work we’ve done and I wanted to take a few minutes to share with you everything we’re fighting for.

Fellow Nevadans,

My team and I have been off to a busy start this year working to deliver meaningful change for Nevada’s hardworking families. It’s only February, but I’m already so proud of the work we’ve done and I wanted to take a few minutes to share with you everything we’re fighting for.

Legislative Updates

Since I was sworn in as your Senator, I’ve introduced over 20 pieces of legislation. So far this year alone, I’ve already introduced 6 bills! Just like last year, every single piece of legislation I’ve introduced this year has been bipartisan and focused on smart solutions for Nevada families and moving Nevada forward. In fact, in the past three months, one of my bipartisan measures passed the Senate and another was signed into law!

Hero Act

Jacky on the Move

My favorite part of being a Senator is spending time meeting with and advocating for Nevadans. Here are some of the meetings and events that have been highlights for me so far this year.

Last month, I attended CES 2020 in Las Vegas, where I had the chance to see firsthand some of our emerging new technologies. As a former computer programmer, I know how important technology is to building our future.

At the beginning of February, it was my honor to welcome Gil Hernandez of Elko, a Vietnam veteran and Purple Heart recipient, as my guest to this year’s State of the Union address.

Then, just last week, I was thrilled to join the Sparks Fire Department to discuss my newly-introduced bipartisan HERO Act to help connect our firefighters and first responders with mental health and support services.

ICYMI

Last year, I launched the first-ever Senate Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Anti-Semitism alongside Senator James Lankford (R-OK).

The mission of the Task Force is to collaborate with our colleagues in the House, law enforcement, the White House, federal agencies, state and local government, educators, advocates, clergy, and other stakeholders to combat anti-Semitism by educating and empowering our communities.
