NSDP Chair Roberta Lange & Speaker Pro Tempore Debbie Smith to Hold Press Conference Call on GOP Attempt to Raise Taxes on Middle Class TOMORROW

Republicans want to increase payroll tax, affecting nearly 160 million American families

Las Vegas, NV – Tomorrow, Nevada State Democratic Party Chair Roberta Lange and Speaker Pro Tempore Debbie Smith will hold a press conference call to discuss Republican efforts to raise taxes on the middle class.

Last year, President Obama lowered the payroll tax, providing much needed tax relief for middle class families.  But now, Republicans want to raise the payroll tax, which would result in a tax increase on nearly 160 million American families, including 1.2 million Nevadans.  While Republicans are trying to cut taxes for billionaires and keep tax breaks for corporations that ship American jobs overseas, they have no problem raising taxes on the Americans who can least afford it.

Tomorrow’s call will be at 1pm.  Please RSVP to Zach Hudson at zhudson@nvdems.com for dial-in info.
