================================================================
The Humboldt County Democratic Central Committee has announced plans to hold its Humboldt County Democratic Convention on Saturday, February 23rd.  The convention will be held at the Sonoma Heights Elementary School, 1500 Melarkey St., Winnemucca.  Early registration will on Friday afternoon from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.  Registration will also be open from 8:00-9:59 AM on Saturday. The convention itself will begin promptly at 10:00 AM following the close of registration.

It is important that all Democrats who participated in the January caucus attend. Those persons who were selected as Delegates at the caucus will elect delegates to the state convention which will be held on May 17-18 in Reno.  Any Democrat who participated in the caucus will be eligible to participate as an Alternate at the local convention.  Democrats who were unable to attend the Caucus are eligible to attend the County Convention, but only in a non-voting, “observer” capacity.

This convention will be an initial organization meeting. All Humboldt County Democrats should attend in order to assist in assembling the local party platform and determine it’s leadership. Elections will be held for the initial term of the Executive Committee. All registered Democrats in Humboldt County can participate in the organization of the Committee, but only Delegates can vote on items of convention business, which includes Party Platform Resolutions and election of 12 State Convention Delegates.
