The political season is picking up. Over the next week, three campaign events are coming to our little town of Winnemucca.
- Thursday, October 9, 2008, Las Margaritas, 3:30 PM: Montana Sen. Jon Tester will hold a series of “Rural and Western Values” roundtable discussions across northern Nevada for Barack Obama to discuss western and rural issues with local residents, business leaders, and farmers. Sen. Tester will focus on how Barack Obama’s economic plans will benefit western states and rural areas at stops in Reno, Fallon, Winnemucca, Elko, and Fernley.
- Monday, October 13, 2008, Humboldt County Library, 1:00 PM: Barack Obama’s Campaign for Change invites you to join retired US Army Major General Paul Eaton when he speaks on Foreign Policy, Iraq and Veterans Issues.
- Monday, October 13, 2008, Downtown Winnemucca, 1:30 PM: Walk-about with Jill Derby to show your support of her campaign as she asks local residents for their votes on election day.
- Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 06:00 PM: Winnemucca Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring a Candidates forum at the West Convention Hall . Expected duration will be 3 hours. 6- 7 PM = Meet ‘n Greet with candidates; 7-9 PM = Q&A presentations with candidates.
