NSDP Election Information

Officer elections for the Nevada State Democratic Party (NSDP) will be held at our next Central Committee meeting which will be held on March 4, 2017 in Las Vegas. The term for each office is two years.  Humboldt County has two ‘voting’ seats on the NSDP Central Committee, Vickie Rock and Denis Baldwin, but any Nevada Democrat can attend NSDP Central Committee meetings as a Guest.

The Rural NV Democratic Caucus (representing the rural counties) meets in the morning ahead of the NSDP meeting.  Any Rural NV Democrat can attend those meetings and as a Rural NV Democrat you have full voting rights in those meetings.  The Rural NV Caucus will also be holding election of officers and ‘self-nomination’ period to fill those offices is now open.  If you’d like to serve as an officer of the NV Rural Democratic Caucus, you can access the self-nomination form here:

Completed RNDC Self-Nomination forms need to be sent to the RNDC Chair, Nyla Howell, via email roctech@cccomm.net, or fax 775-867-5354 or US Mail 4160 Bottom Road  Fallon, NV 89406.  Nominations must be received by end of the workday, Feb. 24, 2017.  If you nominate someone else, make sure you have their permission to nominate them.  Copies of all nomination forms received will be sent out to RNDC officers, county chairs and all nominees prior to the meeting to enable sharing with county caucus members.  Unlike the the NSDP, the RNDC will take nominations from the floor, however, we would encourage to make your willingness to lead known by the deadline so information about who you are and what you might hope to achieve or espouse can be shared with others, earning support for your candidacy.

Filing to run for offices in the NSDP will open on January 30, 2017.  All applications must be received by the NSDP by end of the workday on February 10, 2017.  Copies of the completed nomination forms will be emailed/sent to NSDP C/C members on February 14, 2017 for them to peruse and discuss with their county caucus members for their input regarding who they believe their voting representing to the NSDP C/C should vote for.  Election of new NSDP officers will take place at the NSDP C/C meeting on  March 4, 2017 in accordance with the following rules:
